Top Travel Tips This Xmas From Transfers4airports

So Xmas is fast approaching. I know many of you maybe saying ‘hold on. It’s only the first week of October’? Yes, but in our experience if you take into consideration some of the tips we suggest below you will ensure that your impending festive period not only saves you money, but also makes it a much more pleasurable hassle free period. For those of you with children/ elderly family/ disabled friends or family. Planning is essential, but the tips we suggest are designed to help everyone.

So what are these tips???

  1. Avoid peak travel dates – So if you can avoid travelling during the peak Xmas dates you will sure to bag yourself a much better price and smoother travel experience. Remember you can still travel on Xmas day. Airports and Transfers4airport.com are open 24/7, 365 days a year.
  2.  Book early – Our advice would be to try and book your flight tickets as soon as possible as prices will inevitably increase the closer you get to Xmas.  Booking early will also ensure that you have the best chance to grab the dates you want. Whilst we are a 24/7 service, Xmas for all airport transfer companies is one of the busiest periods, so booking your car to the airport early will also again guarantee you the best price and guarantee that you do not stress about finding a company to take you to the airport last minute.
  3. Shop around – There are many comparison websites to enable you to get the best holiday, hotels, prices etc. So we would say ‘shop around’ and get the best deal for you and your family or friends.
  4. Knowing your airport – By knowing your airports you can save yourself time, money and a potentially hassle free travel experience. Smaller hotels tend to have fewer flights, which tends to mean fewer delays. Researching your airports at both ends can save you lots of time before flying out.
  5. Space your connections out – If you book your own tickets online and have connections to reach your destination. It is advised to try and space out your connections. Xmas is one of the busiest travel periods in the year which means that delays tend to increase during this time. So spacing your connections could potentially avoid you from missing your onward flight.
  6. Leave early – Many airlines advise you to get to the airport within a reasonable timescale to avoid missing your flight. Our experience has shown that different airlines, airports and countries work on different timescales. So we would say that you should directly find out what the timeframe is for your flight. Remember the time that you are expected to get onto an ‘Emirates’ flight at London Gatwick may not be the same timeframe as getting an ‘Emirates’ flight from JFK. Taking this into consideration we advise that you leave your home/ office or place of departure well in advance. (This includes booking your car with Transfers4airports) as there maybe road delays/ accidents, traffic etc
  7. Pack wisely – Historically passengers would try and pack most luggage into overhead cabins, which saves time having to wait around for baggage collection. However with more security measures across airports now. You will find that taking liquids over a certain amount will not be allowed via cabin luggage holders. Pack wisely to avoid wasting time opening and closing your luggage.
  8. Using the Internet – We would advise keeping electronic e’tickets, travel insurance etc on personal devices to help save you time and ‘faffing’ around with unnecessary papers whilst on holiday. You can also book and purchase items when abroad via your android/smartphones. Just ensure that you have the correct roaming/data for your devices or try and use as many free WiFi spots.
  9. Traveling early or late – To get the better deals. You will find booking a flight very early or very late in the day will get you the better deals. Often when people are fast asleep are when the tickets are cheaper. This can mean less staff at the airport, however it does also have the added benefit that you are less likely to face traffic/congestion when traveling to the airport.
  10. Consider package deals – During peak travel periods like Xmas you may find that purchasing a package deal is the most cost effective way about booking your flights/ hotels/ car rentals.

We hope that our tips above can help you in some way and wish you all a lovely upcoming Xmas.
